Mayo County Enterprise Board

One of the main objectives of Mayo County Enterprise Board is to assist people interested in starting a new small business, or developing an existing one. With this in mind we offer a variety of business training programmes that take place twice a year, in Spring and Autumn. These include a Start Your Own Business Programme, for those at the "thinking about it" stage, or those who have recently taken the plunge. The Managing Finances Training Programme deals with the financial matters, including VAT, PAYE, and PRSI etc. Other programmes include Marketing, Health and Safety, and Human Resources Management. For the more established business Mayo CEB has programmes such as Management Development and Operations Management. Participation on all of these programmes is open to people in all business sectors, not just manufacturing, but also services of all types including retailing, tourism etc.

Mayo CEB also offers a range of Business Advice, Counselling and Management Development Training to small and micro enterprises. The support includes:

• Advice on the eligibility of projects for assistance.
• Advice on the structure and content of business plans.
• Information on other supports available to small enterprises.
• Marketing and general business advice.
• Business Skills training designed to give Promoters the skills to grow and expand their business.
• Management Development training to enhance the management skills of owner/managers.
